Meet the Innovator

Leslie Laing , founder, Spheres of Influence, LLC, has experience in banking, diversity, advocacy, leadership, event planning, student programming, civic engagement and mentorship as a Student Affairs Higher Education professional. Leslie has a heart for philanthropy, fundraising, financial literacy and is also founder of the Adult Learner Opportunity Fund that awards grants to adult, veteran, student parents and first generation students at Penn State. 

     As a change agent, Leslie, has been active in the State College Community serving as past president of the Forum on Black Affairs, chair of three Diversity Conferences for the Community Diversity Group, active member in the American Association of University Women, founding member of the Racial Unity Network between local churches, educational co-chair and founding member of the State College NAACP, a member of the Pennsylvania Prison Society providing a Parenting Program at CCCF, and as a proud parent her activism is evident within the local School District and Townships. Leslie’s sphere of influence expands beyond the campus and community seeking to inspire, engage and transform the world.
